About Ivy

 

* I received an Art Degree from California State University, Fresno 1991 my emphasis in ceramics. I took one jewelry class in 1990.

* After I graduated I designed jewelry on scraps of paper while I worked in an office, helped remodel two houses, and fabricated heart assist devises in a medical research lab.

* In 1999 I sold my house, picked up the torch and invested in myself full time and established Ivy Woodrose.

* I then began doing the art fairs in Michigan and Ohio. I’ve been honored with Best of Show awards and awards for excellence.

* I won First Place in the Precious Metal Clay category in the Saul Bell Design Competition in 2004 and 2006.

* I have written an article titled “Fields of Color” for the November 2004 issue of the Art Jewelry Magazine on how to create jewelry like mine with PMC and epoxy resin. The piece is featured on the cover.

*Suzanne Wade interviewed me for the AJM magazine for the June 2005 article titled “Design Alternatives” I was thrilled when my piece, “Bonnie Beach” was featured on the cover.

* I have a son, Dylan, his beloved Stephanie I call daughter, 2 stepsons, Christopher and Noah, and a stepdaughter, Tamar. Dylan and Stephanie live in North Carolina. Dylan is an upcoming glass artist, Christopher and Tamar are in California.Tamar is an illustrator. Noah lives in Michigan, is studying to be a nurse and lives with his fiance Kelly.

* My husband, Steve, is a metal smith and can fix just about anything. He has his own business: Liberty Metal Antique Restorations. We currently live in Oak Park, Michigan.
